To the East!

Last summer, I had my first family reunion and vacation in the West Coast for a period of two weeks. We begun our adventure in San Francisco, then to Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and ended in Los Angelas. This summer, on another memorable reunion, we flew to the other side and ventured out to the East Coast and Canada. We took a tour with Super Vacation that cost $628 per person, inclusive of hotel stays and some meals. However, the costs did not include most attractions such as museums, observatory towers and other more exclusive meals. If anyone's interested on booking a tour with this company, make sure to find out what's included and not as we were only told about some additional charges after the first day of our tour.

Though I've visited New York back in 2009, being with my family made it all new and exciting again:)

Day 1: New York City, New York
Welcome to Neeeww Yorrrk!

Our tour was only scheduled to begin the next day, so we had
the first day to ourselves.
Had our dinner at Ruby Foo's restaurant
located on Broadway at W. 49th St

After the long walk in the rain late at night, we decided to pick the closest
Asian restaurant and ended up at Ruby Foo's. Thankfully, it was a good choice:)

This place has some good reviews and the meals were pretty good.
I'd recommend this restaurant for a higher priced chinese cuisine.

The first day was pretty much just feeding our stomachs every few hours and
enjoying the big city and midnight stroll in Times Square.

Pretty bright neon lights:)

All smiles & love from home :)

After 2 years studying in the States, the opportunity to visit home
was the one destination I've impatiently anticipated.

I hate that I only had exactly 24 days to enjoy home, the clock was ticking fast & my days were like precious jewels. Nonetheless, I still managed to occupy each day and use my limited time to fully indulged in all the tasty meals that I have been desperately craving, got myself a nice haircut, a relaxing facial, and a few visits to some newly opened bars and clubs. It's surprising to see many changes in just a period of 2 years.

A few pictures to remind me of my great trip back home <3

Love that my mum took the time to add colorful throw pillows in my
room & another wallpaper while I was away:)

First day, arrival home

My mother's choice ;)

Something else I was dying to do back home? Cuddle & kiss my
cutest dog, Missy & her friend, Snowy:)
Don't the camera just love them? <3

Rome speaks for itself.

.:Snapshots:.

Rome, Italy

You know you're really in Rome when you see a building like this!

St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City
Being there felt so surreal. I thought I would only see this in movies.
Its beauty was truly breathtaking.

The famous Trevi fountain
Make a wish!

My small country

You know, I have to say that the shopping malls in my country are pretty damn beautiful. You'll be amazed by what a small country can achieve. Except for its political bullshit, Kuala Lumpur city and other states are developing swiftly with high-rise buildings filling up the empty lands & beautiful resorts by the beaches. Furthermore, I've heard that there are newly opened restaurants, bars and clubs in less than a year and a half. That's just 18 months since I've been living in the States and away from my home country. I miss the big and luxurious shopping malls with 5 to 6 levels filled with over 200 variety of shops and a stretch of over 40 restaurants. A mall so big that sometimes people loss their way out, have to seat for a drink/meal, have to revisit to finish walking the entire mall and some might end up misplacing their vehicles in the parking lot. Hah. Well, how do I know of such thing? Because my family, friends and myself had been victims. *wink*

I love that on a boring day or night, I can always drop by the mall and hangout there for hours doing window shopping, people watching, outdoor dining, etc. Some things are much cheaper back home. Including movie tickets! Each time I'm paying $5 (with student ID) for a movie ticket. Where as, back home is like RM7=$2.17 (with student ID) and RM10=$3.10 (without). The huge difference is that our cinema looks like a 4 star hotel lobby. I don't know why it has to be so beautiful but it's definitely worth paying money for anyways:)

I miss club and bar hopping! I miss going to the bars located on the top of a building that overlooks the beautiful city and the KL twin towers. There are more clubs and bars now that I don't know about. I believe when I return home, I'll feel like an astray tourist. The unfamiliar roads and places. Sigh

Apart from that, I dearly miss the hawker stall food by the streets. It's cheap and delicious! It's the type of local authentic food you can never taste it in any other country. Although I'm a sucker for Italian and Japanese food, every now and then I'll crave for authentic foods from back home. I feel hopeless just thinking about it.. :(

Malaysia are for those who:
A) Enjoys eating just about any type of foods!

< Laksa

< Satay

< Steam    chicken

< Bak Kut    Teh

B) Enjoys the big city & shopping malls

< Petronas Twin Towers, Suria KLCC

Mid Valley Shopping mall & hotels
in Kuala Lumpur

< The Gardens, shopping mall

Sunway Pyramid shopping mall, located in Subang Jaya

< Inside Sunway Pyramid, old wing
(Some malls are divided into old and new sections that simply means the old section was first structured and then the mall was expanded and is attached to a newer section of shopping complex)

I love that our country has many different cultures and we take turns to celebrate our festival yearly. Thus, all the malls and streets will be decorated every few months in conjunction with its celebration.
